In most abattoirs throughout the UK, any veterinary conditions are recorded on a paper based system such as a clipboard hung on the wall. As conditions are found, a tally is kept but it is not associated with the individual animal or lot.
Providing feedback back to farmers on occurrences of conditions to be used proactively is not possible with a system such as this.
"We are now 100% sure that MHS health information gathered is accurately attributable to the correct animal, (let alone the correct batch of animals as is required by the legislation). In conjunction with other systems which we had in place already, this allows our producers to benchmark performance of healthy animals against animals which have perhaps had some health issues, primarily fluke which is a massive issue for producers in our catchment area."

Recognising the need for a system which will allow fast and accurate recording of any veterinary conditions found, we have created a versatile and easy to use application which can be installed at each point you want to collect condition information from. The system is highly configurable and works best when integrated with the S.I. Kill line system so that it can pick up Lot information from the site server.
Cat's whisker triggers can be put into place which send a signal to our touchscreen via a controller unit. This signal tells the application to move to the next animal.
The screen then displays a grid showing all the condition categories and conditions. The operator (inspector) would simply tap the appropriate condition button to record the condition against the current carcass.

This information is then associated with the Kill Sequence in our system and consequently with the specific animal and lot.
There are several reports which are available for analysing this data. These provide the ability to filter data out by date ranges, conditions and parts providing highly useful information to various groups of people.
These reports can be run and viewed on screen, printed out, exported to many different formats or even set to be run automatically and delivered to email recipients.
The report shown below is just one of these reports and displays a standard listing of conditions recorded for one day, grouped by Producer and recording station.
The system can be run without auto sensing triggers whereby manual lot selection and kill number entry would be required at the touchscreen.
Categories and Conditions are easily configured by a system administrator.
Species independant, this application can be used to record the veterinary conditions of any livestock.

Ante Mortem Veterinary Data Collection - Handheld Version
For facilities where an Ante Mortem inspection is required we also offer a handheld version of the application. This can be run wirelessly to ensure the most recent data is fed through to the unit.
