Stock & Order

Buyers! How would you like to be presented with raw material requirements per product for forecasted sales without having to grab your calculator. That's right, our Stock & Order application is designed specifically with you in mind.

Having worked closely with the Overwaitea Food Group and Vantage Foods in British Columbia, we came up with the application after recognizing how beneficial this sort of tool could be to a purchasing department.

Integrating closely with other modules in our system (Stock, Cost Modelling, Sales Order Processing) the application pulls together into one screen all the information a buyer could need to put them in the picture regarding:

  • What stock is currently in the warehouse?
  • What is coming into date in the warehouse? (maturated products)
  • What is due to be delivered? (currently on Purchase Order)
  • What is the forecasted demand in raw material terms for the next few days/weeks? (by day)
  • What will be left in stock after todays production? (carried forward)
  • What will be left in stock after tomorrow's production, the day after etc etc...?
  • Where and when am I short on raw material stock?
  • Where and when do I have more than enough raw material?

Stock and Order

With answers to questions such as these visible in one screen, it's no wonder this product is popular. Whilst I remember, best get a requisition in to your IT department for an extra wide screen as you will want to see as far into the future as you can. Standard screens will be able to display 7 to 10 days max, whereas a widescreen will be able to show you up to 4 weeks (depending upon the resolution you are running at).

Try before you buy!

One huge benefit in using the Stock and Order System is that the buyer can create draft purchase orders based on suggested order quantities. Ok, here's how it works. You are browsing around the application and looking at what the demand is and what stock you have and where the shortfalls are appearing. In the "Suggested Order Qty" field you type a value for an amount you may want to purchase to see what the effect will be.

Once you are happy with these suggested orders you can use the application to create these purchase orders in our Purchase Order Processing software for you. All you need to do then is to pop into POP (excuse the pun) and convert them to live PO's and assign a supplier to them.
