The Systems Integration Stock System has evolved over the years to become a widely used and powerful system offering users with ease of use coupled with comprehensive data capture which provides our management systems with the data they use for analysis and visibility of your processes.
The following is a list of the features within our stock system:
Receiving stock using our Purchase Order Receipt system can be done either via a touchscreen terminal connected to the network or via a wireless handheld scanner unit. For items where you are not able to scan the barcode on the item to be received, the touchscreen is used, for anything where you have a barcode you can scan to identify the product the hand scanner would be used. Some of our clients use the scanning method 95% of the time. realizing that it was going to be faster and provide more control (individual items can be scanned as opposed to whole pallets) they chose to ask all their suppliers to provide barcoded labels on each case with their own identifiers within the barcode. We then set up the system to decode these barcodes so that when it is scanned, our system can determine which product it is. When a whole pallet has been received, the operator can choose "New Pallet" and a pallet label is printed which can be placed on the pallet. This label contains a barcode which identifies all the items on the pallet and so it can be used to issue, return or re-locate stock to a different place in the warehouse without having to scan each individual item.
Once the items are scanned against a previously created purchase order they are automatically booked into stock in the designated area. This stock is then visible to all the other applications within our system.
For items where the touchscreen is used to receive, a pallet label is produced for the items specified. Just as with the pallet label produced from the scanner, this label is used to identify the group of items on the pallet to save time.
This feature allows for items to be moved from one warehouse to another. Areas can be used to represent any location you would like but we normally recommend that they refer to different physical storage areas. Now, as well as being able to change the area of an item to a different area in the same plant, our system will also cater for these areas existing in completely seperate geographical areas.
For example, let's say that you had two facilities. One is your main processing plant, and the other is a cold store you keep stock in on the other side of the county. Our system can treat these areas in just the same way as if they were different locations within the same building, after all, when you are looking at this on a screen, geographical distance wont matter.
Even if you have a multi-site setup, where you have our system in several locations, our system can just transfer the data for those items straight into the destination system. Using internet transfer protocols we can manage these events through intelligent triggers. So, for example, if you despatched some product which was destined for the cold store, the printing of the despatch note could be used to transfer the stock data across the internet to the destination system. Yes, we think it's clever too!
The stock system provides the ability to re-locate stock items or pallets, issue them either in full or part and return them to the stock warehouse, again in full or in part simply by selecting the option on the scanner, specifying where it is being located/issued or returned to and under what group and run number if applicable and then scanning the barcode. It really is that simple.
For locating stock in different areas of your warehouse we can also help you to produce barcoded stock location labels for your racking. These can then be used to locate your stock with therefore reducing errors which can creep in if you have to key in a location on a keypad.
This is provided through the following
We have two flavours of Stock Take appplications. The first of these is the standard stock take application. This is made up of two parts; a web based application in which the stock take is created and the data is stored, and a stock take scanner application which is used to select the stock take and then scan all the items to be included in the stock take results.
The second stock take application we provide is for dry goods. This is a simpler type of stock take where an operator scans a dry goods barcode (these could be located on the racking in the dry goods warehouse) and then keys in the counted quantity of the item. The on hand stock figure for this item is then recorded as the new value.
Stock management is a fundamental part of many businesses and one which should be afforded the right tools with which to manage it. If you want ease of use for operatives, flexibility in operation and high visibility monitoring tools providing you with data in real time then call us today to see how we can help you.
In-Line Stock Booking...
Our Auto Stock Booker solution can save you time and money. Linking to a fixed scanner at the end of your production line (setup by our specialists) we can book your products directly into stock as they are coming off the production/packing line. This saves the need to have someone scanning these items into stock and also provides the information to the rest of the system as soon as the items is scanned.
Logging and Monitoring
All the items which are scanned into stock using the Auto Stock Booker are recorded in our database along with the time at which they were scanned. This data can be captured and reported on to provide an overview across the day which gives a pictorial view of the otherwise unseen production throughput rate.
Data such as this when looked at for longer periods of time...days...weeks etc can then be used to identify areas for improvement in your processes.
